You might be familiar with an infamous yoga chart that the amazing Dharma Mittra created with 908 photos of himself practicing some of the most awe-inspiring asanas you’ve ever seen. Even if you’re not familiar with the chart or the story behind it, there’s a pretty good chance that you’ve seen it hanging in your favorite yoga studio. (Read more about the Master Yoga Chart here.)
It’s an amazing work. But wouldn’t it be cool if you could see how the then 45-year-old Dharma Mittra moved in and out of those poses?
Another talented yogi named Christine Kibel recreated a portion of the chart, and made it into a 1 1/2 minute video so you can see her move into the postures. It is mesmerizing and beautiful—we can’t take our eyes off of it! See?
We stumbled upon Kibel’s video recently through social media, and, after a little research, saw that it was a part of a bigger, video project by Phillip Askew, who created several moving yoga posters featuring different teachers. Check out Askew’s YouTube page here, and reference it any time you need a little extra dose of yogic inspiration.
