The five elements are foundational to understanding the basis of yogic teachings, including ayurveda, seasonal practice, and aligning one’s asana practice and life with the rhythms of nature.  It is understood in yoga that the five elements comprise all that is seen and unseen.  With this, deepening one’s relationship with the five elements will profoundly impact the way a student practices, and the way a teacher teaches. The five elements are foundational to the history and modern practice of yoga. Deepening ones understanding of these elements is to deepen ones understanding of oneself and of all of life.

These practices are ideal for an intermediate or advanced practitioner or teacher who is seeking a way in which to bring more depth and meaning to his/her mat practice.

Each practice begins with a short introduction and a unique practice designed to bring the practitioner into a deep and delicious relationship with earth, water, fire, air, and ether.

Each of the five videos builds from the foundation of living in the physical body (earth) and slowly introduces the increasingly subtle elements, culminating in ether.  Practitioners are recommended to practice each element for one week 3-5 days before moving on to the next video.  Element practices do stand alone and can be done independently without loss.  However, the greatest benefit will come from experiencing all five element practices from earth, to water, to fire, to air, and finally to ether.
