A yoga girl from the southern tropical islands of the Pacific Ocean, currently living in Geneva.
In 2003, Yoga came my way and embarked me on a lifelong adventure and inner journey. In 2009, while on duty posting for the United Nations in Jerusalem, I start teaching Yoga as a way to nurture grounding and connect to inner-calm feelings. Back in Geneva since 2012, I teach fusion Seva based Yoga classes (donation based, which profit goes to a humanitarian cause). In 2015, I also joined the Namaha shala, where I teach Yin Yoga. I am a Yoga Alliance certified teacher. I have studied many yoga & healing traditions since 2003 (Vinyasa, Anusara, Jivamukti, Dharma Mittra, Yin, Acroyoga, meditation).
Please join me to one of our yogashare and yogaplay practice! I look forward to seeing you!
DESCRIBE YOUR UNIQUE VALUE ADD AS A TEACHER. WHAT ABOUT YOUR STYLE MAKES YOU STAND OUT?
With a drop of humour, I would dare mentioning a rather Tropical Yoga style (given my upbringing in the South Pacific tropical islands, which gave me, I believe, a sense of simplicity, community, affection and a connection to the natural state of being)...But, on a more serious note, my yoga classes tend to actually be rather style free. Every class is somehow a creation process unfolding for you, for me...a co-creation and therefore, a unique experience, inspired by what is happening around/within me, around/within us, around you/within you...The common thread tends to be about sharing/experiencing together a sincere & authentic moment of (self) & Love.
Finally, being a humanitarian/development worker as well (as my day job), I have to confess that the exposure to rather hard contexts and difficulties worldwide brings me back to that place of humility, commitment and gratitude which I hope I manage to convey in my classes.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR INTENTION IN BEING A PART OF THE LOCAL COLLECTIVE OF GATHERYOGA?
Sharing a quote (among my very favourites), summarizes it all for me:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens - (yogis for that purpose!) - can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has". Margaret Mead.
Together, we gather.
Collective, we live.
Thank you Gather Yoga-Collective, for bringing us together.
WHAT FIRST BROUGHT YOU TO THE MAT?
In many ways, I have always felt guided to the Yoga teachings, like as if there was just no choice. This was it. A Love at the first sight.
And I remember, still, that staircase leading to that yoga studio in Zurich where I would take my first yoga (asana) class...and then? Magic happened...Home...and for a forever traveller like myself (since childhood), this meant the world...no, this meant the Universe...
How could I know back then, that my world would spin around & around for the best but also for the hardest...and that the Yoga teachings and associated meditation and healing techniques would then become the anchor to daily new experiences with greater mindfulness and awareness, to Life, to my human body, to my Heart, to Presence, starting to love more and more "What is"...falling in Love every day to this "What is"...
Until today, I still wonder what my life was before embarking on that exquisite yoga journey? The Path of self study, realizations and contemplation...Forever grateful I am, and I will forever be, of that spring day, in May 2003...
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO TEACH?
In my Heart, Yoga is about allowing an authentic experience to unfold. Be physical, emotional, spiritual, etc. Be positive, be negative or neutral, it unfolds anyway...Facilitating and being/acting as the space holder of that experience to unfold is the greatest blessing, that forever keeps me inspired to teach.
